Two days in a row? I know, I can’t believe it myself! The baby has been a piece of cake this week, so I’ve had a little extra time and decided to put it to good use…and wow do I feel productive!! haha
So I’m usually a MAC girl when it comes to lipsticks. And by usually, I mean always. I will be doing a MAC Lip Collection with swatches and possibly a video soon, but I was too excited about these too wait. Comment if you think a video is necessary! I’d like to try something new anyway. But yes, if a lip product takes me away from MAC, then it has to be good. Trust me.
The way this came about is through my You-Tube obsession- I watch swatches and reviews on everything before I buy it, and tutorials before I do any freelancing. This time I was looking for a long wearing lipstick to put on my sister in law for her upcoming wedding, and I came by a few video of liquid lipsticks. I know there was a huge hype about the Anastasia Beverly Hills lip collection, but I wasn’t over the moon about the color selection. I have yet to actually try them, so if I do I’ll keep you guys posted on my opinion, as usual. Yes there are a TON of colors in her collection, but nothing I was truly in love with. When I came across a review of the color BESO, in the Stila collection, I was immediately in love.
I bought the color BESO, alone at first from Sephora, and waited quite impatiently to come in. I didn’t know if it would live up to its “stay all day name”, if the consistency would be suitable or if the smell would be as good as everyone raved about – so I just bought the one. The second I tried it on (five minutes within its arrival) I went back and bought three more colors!! There are 10 different colors, but these were the ones in the color scheme that typically work for my skin tone. You definitely don’t need all of there colors – for instance fiery and beso are very similar – but i think everyone can find something suitable for their own looks.
Overall, there is nothing, I don’t love about these lipsticks. The only thing people have to beware of is that they are dry, as all liquid lipsticks are. They apply almost like a gloss, but then dry matte if you have chapped lips, or you are more mature, I wouldn’t recommend them. Nevertheless, application is flawless and hallejuhah, you do not need a lipliner. They don’t budge at all, and they last between 6-8 hours, depending on what you’re doing. They smell just like cake, which is phenomenallll. AND last but not least they are super opaque. It only take one coat – which is great because the amount of product you get, even though its pricey at $22.00 a pop, will last you quite a while.
I will definitely going back for more, but the colors I swatched below are the ones that were best suited to my skin tone. Oh, and also don’t mind my blank face. I didn’t put on any other makeup because I was at home with the babe all day….plus its all about the lips anyway !
Thanks, as always for reading friends! Hope this helps with any new purchases <3.
